Some of you might remember my previously filing a FOIA request pursuant to Michigan Public Act 442 of 1976 at the end of May.
Prior Related File- FOIA Request: Michigan Financial Institution Data Match Program
After learning the magnitude of the program when I received copies of the Michigan Financial Institution Data Match Memorandum of Agreement from DHS it raised several concerns. One, that there are now at least 542 Financial Institutions doing business in Michigan that are participating. Two, that several of these banks are giving significant amounts of data on ALL its customers to DHS. Three, that DHS is providing significant amount of information to banks that are performing their own matches.
I have submitted an additional request to Jan Williams and the FOIA Coordinator at Michigan's Department of Human Services. This request is located HERE.
Please note that this program affects people that are not even involved with a friend of the court case and further data obtained might be used against you without your prior knowledge of them even having obtained the information or what is contained in the records or system.
