The "term kangaroo court" is one that I have used in the past to define a court that has a predetermined outcome. Typically these courts and courtrooms have a predetermined outcome based on some obligation to generate revenue for the state or their own budgets, which most would say is a conflict of interest. The family court and most traffic courts have this function. I am not the only one that defines a kangaroo court in this fashion, which prompted me to find out what the popular website "Hot for Words" said about the term.
Quiet please...
In the video you see that the host notes that a Kangaroo Court is a "court that is improperly run" and that "leads to its conclusion very rapidly" with a predetermined outcome. She also states that the term originated early in the State of Texas. Don't believe me, believe the lady with the degrees folks.
So, now you have heard what the term Kangaroo Court means from Marina Olova. Maria Olova is known to millions across the Internet as a "Sexy Master of Language, HotForWords. Hailing from Moscow, Marina has two degrees in philology.
Philology is the study of linguistics and origins of words.
Lary Holland is someone that is appalled by Kangaroo Courts.
