Anne-France Goldwater is a Montreal family law lawyer, senior partner of the
firm Goldwater, Dubé. She is a graduate of McGill University, and was called
to the Bar in 1981. She has authored articles on parental alienation,
international kidnapping and bankruptcy and family law, and is presently
completing an article on unjustified enrichment between common law spouses.
Her practice highlights include establishing precedents on the recognition
of parental alienation syndrome by the courts, the right of children to the
attorney of their choice and to claim party status, as well as disparate
children¹s rights such as lump sum support and mandatory reinstatement in a
private educational institution.

She also successfully challenged the federal and provincial laws forbidding
marriage for same-sex couples, thereby obtaining the right of same-sex
couples to marry. For this achievement, she won the Canadian Bar Association
SOGIC Ally Award in 2003, for contributions made in the cases of equality
for lesbian and gay couples.

She successfully challenged the validity of laws preventing women from
executing their own alimony and child support orders. She advanced the
protection of privacy rights in family matters in the context of paternity
litigation between a same-sex couple and the sperm donor. She has obtained
the highest child support orders in Quebec, and the highest provisions for
cost in a matrimonial matter. She is presently challenging the
constitutionality of the federal definition of marriage in the Civil
Marriage Act, and challenging the constitutionality of Quebec's failure to
grant rights to common law couples. She is also challenging the
constitutionality of the Quebec Child Support Guidelines.
Cook has been working in York Region for several years and is a member
of the Ontario Association for Family Mediation (Accreditation pending)
and the York Collaborative Practice.

Susan has extensive experience working in both the Criminal and Family
Courts of York Region and while providing mental health assessments for
Criminal Court, Susan recognized a gap in service in the Family Courts
where she then proposed, developed and maintained the Family Court
Worker Program. Susan provided mediation services within that Program
and worked on cases involving York Region Children's Aid Society and
local schools, as well as conducted training for York Region Police
Services.

Susan trained as a family mediator with Barbara Landau prior to
starting what has become a very successful private practice in
mediation and parenting coordination. Susan regularly appears on York
Region television to discuss the benefits of mediation and parenting
coordination for both the partners, but predominantly, the children.

Susan is also the mother of two grown children and brings a wealth of
professional and personal experience to her practice where she works
with families with compassion, skill, and humour.
Dr. Marty McKay - Diplomate in Clinical Psychology, ABPP

Marty McKay is a clinical psychologist who has 32 years of experience
in working with children and families. She has a Ph.D. in psychology
as well as post-doctoral certification and training in clinical and
forensic psychology. She has consulted with Children's protective
services across southwestern Ontario and currently serves on a
Government Ministry Expert Panel related to the treatment of children
and youth in foster care and residential settings. She has been an
expert witness at all levels of Ontario Court as well as in the United
States in cases involving best interests of children. She has been a
participant in documentaries regarding the rights of children and makes
many media appearances to speak about children's rights. Dr. McKay's
primary concerns include the ways in which many of our social
institutions upon which we depend can be commandeered to alienate a
child from one of his parents, including courts, lawyers, physicians,
psychologists, counsellors, child welfare and law enforcement. She
has provided evidence before the Senate Sub-Committee regarding the
need for family law changes that truly reflect the child's world, and
the need for substantial reform that takes parenting completely out of
the adversarial system. She believes that through knowledge of the
ways in which parental alienation can take place, on the personal,
interpersonal and systemic levels, that parents can be empowered to
ensure that children's full relationship rights are protected and
maintained.

Allegations Of Child Sexual Abuse In Divorce Cases: Responding To Criminal Charges

Tawnya Maddox and Chrissy Chrzanowski were hosting a live talk show program on Friday August 29, 2008, known as SplitNTwo, with guest Dr. Reena Sommer. The topic was essentially how to handle false allegations of child sexual abuse in high-conflict divorce and custody cases. These issues have a significant relationship to Parental Alienation and Hostile Aggressive Parenting, where one parent attempts to sour the other parents relationship with their own children. Parental Alienation and using these tactics are also "child abuse."

Dr. Reena Sommer specializes in addressing issues pertaining to false allegations of child sexual abuse and also maintains several web resources like the website: Solutions4PAS

"A major thrust of Dr. Sommer's work is in the area of separation and divorce and assisting divorcing couples explore options in restructuring their lives. In the past, Dr. Sommer conducted court ordered custody evaluations and oversaw courted ordered supervised access. From time to time, Dr. Sommer is asked to provide expert testimony."

"Dr. Sommer is guided by the belief that children should not be denied a relationship with their parents simply because their moms and dads decide to divorce. She views her role as a family life consultant to help men and women develop effective parenting plans that make it possible for them to maintain a positive connection with their children."

I was able to pose a couple of questions, comments, but more importantly discovered an amazing resource for parents that suspect false allegations might come up from the other parent and shared it with those that were participating. I shared the resource below with Chrissy Chrzanowski, Tawnya Maddox, Dr. Amy Baker, Dr. Reena Sommer, and Katrina Daniels, whom I often refer to as the "Parental Alienation Task Force."

THE RESOURCE: DISTINGUISHING BETWEEN TRUE AND FALSE ALLEGATIONS OF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IN DIVORCE CASES: RESPONDING TO CRIMINAL CHARGES.

The article/study was authored Charles E. Bridges of Bridges, Nichols & Seibel. The link above is a repost of the original content at Delta Bravo, an affiliation of Separated Parenting Access & Resource Center (S.P.A.R.C.)

The introduction sets the tone of the piece:

"This article will focus on those procedures which may lead to false allegations of sexual abuse. By focusing on false allegations, I will be emphasizing what I believe are the weaknesses in the present system of identifying sexual abuse in children. My personal opinion is that the vast majority of sexual abuse allegations are true and that the dedication of the experts that I am critical of in this article has resulted in the conviction of sex offenders who might otherwise have gone free to abuse other children. So much deserved praise has been given these experts that I do not feel the need to say more. However, there has been so little deserved criticism of these experts that I do feel the need to criticize those procedures that can lead to false accusations of sexual abuse. False accusations can be devastating both to the innocently accused and to the child incorrectly diagnosed as a sexual abuse victim."

For anyone that might be facing the possibility of false allegations of child sexual abuse, know first and foremost that it is a very real threat and you could face jail time if the event is not handled correctly. It might not even be a bad idea to print out the report and pass it along or burn a copy of the talk show program "SplitNTwo" with Dr. Reena Sommer to a cd as a gift. Knowledge is power and making a mistake in handling false allegations can be devastating and cause the complete loss of your freedom and/or access to your children. No matter what, hang in there and share the information.

Chrissy Chrzanowski of SplitNTwo delivered a compelling, emotional, and true account of parental alienation before the crowds at DC FESTIVAL 2008 and now the entire Internet. Parental alienation is the mental manipulation of children, which can result in destroying a loving and warm relationship they once shared with a parent. Parental Alienation can occur in intact families, but is mostly seen in separated and divorced families. Parental Alienation is Child Abuse.

Chrissy's Speech Can Be Seen on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnFUJeDt8cI

Through the participation of so many dedicated advocates working throughout the United States and coming together in a united front, I have two things to say:

1. Parental Rights should be respected and protected by all.

2. We are united and we are everywhere.

The time for speaking to the choir is over, and all our efforts will be directed at content production, advocate training, and public outreach. We are united and we are everywhere. Respect parental rights or your election will enter our sights.
